Meeting Rooms

Shasta Public Libraries offers a variety of meeting spaces to serve community needs, whether you need to host a large-scale event, schedule a meeting, or just need a quiet place to study.

Meeting Rooms

Each library is equipped with a large meeting space for events. The Redding Library also boasts a variety of meeting rooms of difference sizes and purposes.

Meeting Rooms
Anderson Library
  • Meeting Room: capacity 50 people. No food allowed.
Burney Library
  • Community Room: capacity 10 people. No food allowed.
Redding Library
  • Community Room: capacity 130 people.
    • Available furniture: 12 Large Round Tables, 7 Rectangular Tables, 2 Large Rectangular Tables, 130 Chairs. Food is allowed.
    • Room must be returned to normal set-up after use and within the reservation timeframe.
  • Foundation Meeting Room: capacity 20 people. Food is allowed.
  • Fireside Meeting Room: capacity 15 people. No food allowed.

Reservation Fees

Reservation fees are due at the time of reservation.

  • Redding Library Community Room

    • For non-profit and government organizations: No charge for up to two hours; $50 flat rate fee for reservations two hours or more.
    • For private parties: $100 for up to two hours, and $25 for each hour thereafter.
    • For commercial businesses: $165 for up to two hours, and $30 for each hour thereafter.
    • A refundable check deposit may be required for use outside of regular hours as well as the approval of the supervising librarian and/or the Library Director.

    Redding and Anderson Library Meeting Rooms

    • For non-profit and government organizations: No charge.
    • For all other entities: $25 for up to two hours, and $10 for each hour thereafter.

    Burney Library Community Room

    • For non-profit and government organizations: No charge.
    • For all other entities: $25 for up to two hours, and $10 for each hour thereafter.

    Redding Library Computer Center

    • For non-profit and government organizations: No charge.
    • For all other entities: $50 for up to two hours, and $25 for each hour thereafter.

Refunds/Cancellations

  • Reservations cancelled more than 24 hours in advance of the event will receive a full refund.
  • Reservations cancelled within 24 hours or less of the event will be subject to a 50% cancellation fee.

Technology Rooms

The Redding Library also includes two technology-oriented meeting rooms to facilitate learning and support small businesses.

Technology Rooms
Computer Center
  • Computer Center: 20 computers, capacity 25 people. No food allowed.
Podcasting Studio
  • Studio C Podcasting Room: 1 computer with 2 microphones, capacity 4 people. No food allowed.

Study Rooms

Study rooms are available for anyone to use. Reservations can be made for up to two hours and can be reserved the day of via phone or in person.

Burney Library
  • 2 study rooms: available on first come, first served basis, capacity 8 people. No food allowed.
Redding Library
  • 4 study rooms: available on first come, first served basis, capacity 8 people. No food allowed.

How can I reserve a meeting room?

Head over to our reservations page, choose your date and time, and then choose the appropriate room. Log in to your account, or create an account if you don’t have one, to finish reserving the room.

Does it cost anything to use a room?
  • Room reservations will automatically charge the highest price. Please email adminassistant@shastalibraries.org to have the discounts for a non-profit/government or private party applied.

Redding Library Community Room & Patio

  • For non-profit and government organizations: No charge for the first two hours, and a $50 flat rate fee for reservations over two hours..

Studio C and Study Rooms

  • No charge.
When can I reserve a room?

Meeting Rooms and Technology Rooms can be reserved online up to six months in advance and need to be made at least 24 hours in advance. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

Study Rooms can be reserved in-person or over the phone the same day of the reservation time. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis.

Are there any restrictions?

Library programs have priority in the reservation process. Reservations are limited to two times per month, and must be reserved 24 hours in advance. See our Meeting Room Policy.

Community Rooms

The Redding Library Community Room and the Burney Community Room may be used during hours that the Library is open, and with prior approval, and additional conditions, the Community Rooms may be used outside of regular hours.

Redding Library Community Room & Patio

Users are responsible for set up, take down, and clean up. Users need to allow enough time within their reservation period to accomplish these tasks. Meeting rooms are to be returned to their original condition and configuration.

Food and beverages are permitted in the Community Room & Patio. The serving of alcohol must be approved by the City of Redding and the Alcoholic Beverage Control Office at least thirty (30) days prior to the function date. Evidence of proper insurance is required prior to approval.

Redding Library Children’s Garden

Children’s events Only.

Users are responsible for set up, take down, and clean up. Users need to allow enough time within their reservation period to accomplish these tasks. Garden is to be returned to its original condition and configuration.

Food and beverages are permitted in the Garden.

Redding Library Computer Center

Food or beverages other than bottled water or covered non-alcoholic beverages are not allowed.

Studio C

The Podcast Studio is open during regular Redding Library hours and can be reserved 4 times per month. First time users can reserve an orientation with library staff to review equipment and operational instructions. Production support and editing is not available. Food or beverages other than bottled water or covered non-alcoholic beverages are not allowed. Must have a full access library account in good standing to use.

Study Rooms

Study Rooms are available during open hours. Users can make reservationsone reservation per day for up to two hours on the current day online or through staff. Food or beverages other than bottled water or covered non-alcoholic beverages are not allowed.
