Become a Shasta Literacy Tutor!
As a Shasta Literacy tutor, you will provide the keys to our learners’ success! Tutors are carefully matched with learners and provided with free training and support. Tutors and learners typically meet once a week for one to two hours.
New tutors will be required to complete an orientation before being matched with a learner. These orientations are held four times a year, see below for upcoming tutor orientation dates.
Upcoming tutor orientation dates:
- September 28, 2024 (11am-3pm)
- January 25, 2025 (11am-3pm)
- April 26, 2025 (11am-3pm)
- June 21, 2025 (11am-3pm)
To register for one of the orientations, please contact Shasta Literacy at (530) 245-7237, or complete the Shasta Literacy Tutor Application 2024. Completed applications can be emailed to literacy@shastalibraries.org or dropped off at the Shasta Literacy Center, located on the first floor inside the Redding Library.
