Each year during November the Community Foundation of the North State hosts a two week Non-Profit organization appreciation week to give thanks to our favorite non-profits. This global event is a worldwide initiative for giving back called– Giving Tuesday! #NSGT
Shasta Public Libraries is fortunate to have three organizations participating in Giving Tuesday on our behalf — Shasta Library Foundation, Friends of Shasta County Libraries, and Friends of the Intermountain Libraries, Inc. Their support helps Shasta Public Libraries bring you valuable programs, resources, and events throughout the year. All three will be focusing on raising funds that fit their individual missions.
Shasta Library Foundation supports Shasta Public Libraries, building the Library’s future, bringing more technology and books to all three branches, and enhancing high-caliber programs that nurture literacy, imagination, and lifelong learning. #ShastaLibraryFoundation #NSGT
Friends of Shasta County Libraries uses donations to provide materials for youth and adult programming. This includes the annual Summer Reading program as well as other teen and adult education and informational programs. The Friends also provide funding for New Books to be purchased at the Anderson Library and Redding Library locations. #FriendsofShastaCountyLibraries #NSGT
The Friends of the Intermountain Libraries uses donated funds to provide materials for youth and adult programming at the Burney Library. This includes the Burney Summer Reading program as well as other teen and adult education and informational programs.
