The Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.) program improves children’s reading and communication skills by employing a powerful method: reading to a dog. But not just any dog. Our R.E.A.D. dogs are registered therapy animals from Prescription Pets who volunteer with their owner/handlers as a team who come to the Redding Library to be reading companions for children.

Join Bright Futures for Tiny Tunes, a lively music and movement class for children ages 0-5! Little ones will explore rhythm, build gross motor skills, and socialize through fun, interactive activities. Come sing, dance, and play with us at the Burney Library!

Meet local artists Gladys Waters and Cristiane Carter.  Watch as they paint during the reading of our featured stories. Each child will receive a mini art bag to create their own work of art! Craft provided by First 5 Shasta.
